Scholarships for Namibia, Inc. provides scholarships to students who attend the Polytechnic of Namibia and become surveyors, land planners and land managers. The scarcity of these trained professionals is an obstacle to the resettlement of formerly disadvantaged Namibians from areas of urban poverty to farms and planned communities. Resettlement will strengthen families, reduce poverty and slow the spread of HIV/AIDS.
On August 13, 2007, Stephen W. Snively was named Honorary Consul for the Republic of Namibia in the State of Florida pursuant to the recommendation of the Honorable Patrick Nandago, Ambassador for the Republic of Namibia to the United States, in Washington, D.C. www.honoraryconsul.us
